The first-ever Garnet Valley Music Gala Concert & Fundraiser was held Sunday, March 24, at Garnet Valley High School. Featuring hundreds of Garnet Valley students ranging from grades 2 to 12, the concert was a celebration of Music in our Schools Month and a fundraiser benefit for MUSICOPIA, a non-profit that supports music education in the Philadelphia area.
Prior to the 3pm concert, students and parents enjoyed a reception in the auditorium lobby featuring refreshments, a glamorous red carpet "photo wall", and entertainment by the GVHS Jazz Band.
Thanks to the efforts of students, parents, and volunteers, the first annual Garnet Valley Music Gala raised over $7000 for Musicopia. At the conclusion of the concert, a check was presented to Musicopia representative Jessica Lynch. The funds will help Musicopia on their mission to provide musical instruments and music lessons to children in underserved areas in the Philadelphia area. Special thanks to our parent coordinators Jen Crothamel and Jodi Hamilton, Illumanize Inc. for lighting and sound, our student lights/sound crew, and all of our parent and student volunteers. A very special thank you to Joe Pulcinella for the amazing photos in our photo gallery below.
