MARCHING BAND ANNOUNCEMENTS 8/7/26

Hello Students and Parents!

This summer has flown by, and we are quickly approaching the start of band season! Band Camp starts Monday, August 17.

Read below for our full announcements, including what you need for Day One of Band Camp. Can't wait to get this BRUNO MARS season started!

UPCOMING DATES & DEADLINES

Sun, 8/9 – Band Swag Store Closes 11:59pm – LINK

Mon, 8/10 – Extra Show Shirt Orders Due (band members receive one free - this order is for additional if desired) – LINK

Fri, 8/14 – Stock’s Pound Cake Orders Due – LINK

Mon, 8/17 – Band Camp Begins – 2:00 PM

BAND CAMP STARTS AUGUST 17

Band Camp begins Monday, August 17 at 2:00 PM sharp. Students should arrive 5-10 minutes early and be ready to begin at 2:00 PM.

Students should make every effort to attend all rehearsals unless they have an unavoidable conflict, such as a family vacation.


WHAT TO BRING

• Instrument/Equipment: Instrument in working order, plus reeds, valve oil, neck strap, etc. as needed; flip folder and lyre for winds/brass

• Water: Refillable water bottle (new members receive one free)• Sun Protection: Sunscreen applied before arrival, extra sunscreen to reapply, hat and sunglasses recommended

• Clothing & Shoes: Light, comfortable clothing and athletic sneakers with socks required. No Crocs, flip-flops, sandals, Converse, slides, or open-toe shoes

• Rain Gear: Poncho or raincoat. We rehearse outside unless there is heavy rain or lightning

• Other: Pencils for marking music and a great attitude!


BEFORE YOU ARRIVE: Get plenty of sleep the night before and eat a good breakfast and lunch.


MARCHING BAND DUES REMINDER

If you have not yet paid your 2026 Marching Band dues of $250, please submit payment as soon as possible.


PAYMENT OPTIONS

• Venmo: @QNC-GVHS. Please send as a payment between friends, otherwise we are charged a service fee. In the notes, type your child’s full name and “Band Dues.”• Check: Payable to “QNC” or “Quarter Note Club.” Label the envelope with the student name and purpose and place it in the band room lockbox.

If these dues present a financial challenge at this time, please reach out to QNCBoard@gmail.com. We are happy to work with families as needed.


BOOKMARK THE MARCHING BAND WEBSITE

Our marching band website will be a central place for marching band information, the latest updates, upcoming dates, and our Season at a Glance.


BAND CALENDAR

All band dates are posted on our Band Google Calendar. We recommend adding the calendar to your personal device so events show up automatically.

The calendar is also synced with the Band App. When you click on an event, check the info section for event details, links, forms, music, locations, and other important information.

The calendar should always be your first stop when you need to confirm a date or event detail.


BAND APP

Both students and parents should join the Band App. We use it for time-sensitive announcements, changes, reminders, and other important updates.


PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We need parent help at Band Camp and throughout the season!

Look for volunteer sign-ups coming soon, and please consider donating your time. Whether you can help a little or a lot, we have many different needs throughout the season and appreciate the support!
