GREAT first week of Band Camp! Reminder: Band Camp starts at 3:30 PM this week (Mon-Thu). Parents: Join us Thursday for our 7:00 PM Parent Meeting in the auditorium and invite family & friends to our 8:15 PM Preview Show! Lots of important info below. Please take a few minutes to review. Can't wait for a great week!

PERFORMANCE DATES – PLEASE CHECK YOUR CALENDARS

It is very important that all students/parents check these performance dates with your family calendar. Every student in the band is important to our success - We ask students to make every effort to attend and address potential conflicts as early as possible.

If you have an unavoidable conflict with any performance below, please tell Dr. Selfridge right away. Sometimes we can work out a compromise where a student performs with the band and then leaves for another commitment, etc.

NOTE: Exact report and performance times for festivals are typically released by the host approximately two weeks before each event. The times above are approximate. For Saturday show days, please plan to block out the afternoon and evening. Our exact schedule and performance time will vary for each event.

MARCHING BAND SHOES

Marching Band shoes are a required part of the uniform. Each student purchases their own pair, and these shoes are intended to be used throughout their time in the band program.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS – WE NEED YOU!

Parent volunteers are incredibly important throughout the marching band season. At every football game and marching band show, we need lots of help to keep things running smoothly.

ROADIES We need approximately 4-8 Roadies at every performance. Our band has a lot of equipment to move, including our Bruno Mars stage, drum major stands/ladders, front ensemble and sound equipment, and more.

When it's "go time" at halftime, we have a very short window to get everything safely onto and off the field. More Roadies = smoother and less stressful performances!

Roadies are not necessarily needed for the entire event. Help is most important during unloading and when we are getting on and off the field.

CHAPERONES Help provide general student and logistical support during band events and travel.

50/50 SALES The band receives the proceeds from 50/50 sales at home football games, making this an important fundraiser for our program. We need volunteers to help sell tickets!

PRETZELS We provide pretzels for students at travel events. Parents can help by sponsoring the pretzels for an event, picking them up, or helping distribute them.

PHILLIES BAND NIGHT – 9/23

Phillies Band Night is coming up soon! This is our first time participating, and we are excited to bring the Jaguar Marching Band to Citizens Bank Park.

All marching band students will need to purchase their own discounted performer ticket.

We also need everyone to help spread the word to friends, family, neighbors, and the GV community. Our goal is to be the top ticket-selling band! The winning band earns the opportunity to perform on the field during pregame.
