Garnet Valley 2019 Solo Fest Success!

On Saturday, February 23, 2019, over eighty students participated in our Garnet Valley Solo Fest. During the course of the day, each of the students performed a musical solo for two professional music judges, receiving a rating and educational feedback. The Solo Fest is an opportunity for band, orchestra, voice and piano students in grades 5-12 to prepare and perform a solo or small ensemble piece. The purpose is to encourage all students to pursue individual improvement and excellence in music, to provide students with an opportunity to show their progress and receive recognition for their work, and to provide students with feedback and encouragement on their progress.

All of our judges this year remarked on how excellently prepared the students were. Following the solo performance, each student received a certificate, participation medal, and posed for a special photo in "Carnegie Hall". We look forward to holding this event again next year, and we hope to see even more students join in!
