What are Seating Auditions?
Seating auditions are held each year in Jan/Feb to determine the placement of students in our instrumental ensembles and chair seating for the following year. Everyone will take part in these auditions. This process is not meant to cause stress, it is simply the most fair and accurate way to determine the best role for each student in our ensembles.
Each seat in the band is important to the overall success of performance: whether 1st chair, or last chair, your contribution is valuable and necessary.
WORK HARD! If you’d like first chair, practice for it. You will get the seating you earn.
Read on to learn how the seating audition process works.
